I am just typing this whilst Mum is on the phone. We were meant to be watching The Pursuit of Happyness on DVD but Mary rang.
Had a great day yesterday. Yianni came about half 11 and helped me get ready. We left just before noon and drove to St. Albans because there was a problem with the trains. We caught a train from there to St. Pancras. When we got off the train, there was a massive fight breaking out on the platform, we walked off but some police ran past us so it must have been pretty serious.
When we got to Waterloo, we went to Burger King and had something to eat (burgers obviously!) The weather was really bad as we walked to the IMAX cinema. I couldn't believe the size of the screen, it was totally massive.
Iron Man 2 was excellent, it made me remember why I liked the first one. The screen ended up hurting my eyes in the end but I still enjoyed seeing the film so big. There were latecomers so the film started late and Yianni and I panicked about getting to see Russell Howard in time. The minute the credits rolled, I had my coat on and grabbed my bag. My vaseline tin went flying. I ran down the stairs in the dark to get it. We raced down the stairs and I beat the queue for the toilet. But this is where the problems started. It seemed to take us ages to get to Tottenham Court Road and when we got there, my ticket wasn't accepted at the barrier. The guy there completely ignored me, but eventually he let me through. We couldn't find our way at first. When we did arrive at the theatre, Yianni told the girl that we had tickets reserved but the girl told us we had missed out by 10 minutes.
I was so disappointed! Yianni was upset too and we were at a loose end. We decided then to get a tube to Victoria and have a look at Buckingham Palace, St. James Park and the Mall. They were nice but it was so cold! We then went to Leicester Square to prepare ourselves for our evening's entertainment. We found the theatre and went to a Pizza Hut very close by. The pizza was delicious (obviously!) but we wanted to hurry up as we were keen to get on.
After we finished eating, we went back to the Leicester Square Theatre and joined the queue outside. I was dying of excitement by this point. Eventually the doors opened and they let us all in. We were in the basement, which was a small room about the size of a living room with a bar and lots of chairs. Yianni and I sat on the tall chairs at the back. He was nervous as we had got a free pizza, which he had in his bag and he was worried it would smell.
Michael McIntyre was so good! He was very funny and at one point I thought he was going to pick on me. He made lots of topical jokes about the General Election. He finished around 10.45pm. As we were coming out, Yiannis told me he wanted to wait and see if we could meet Michael as he left. So we stood outside in the freezing cold with another family waiting. Eventually Michael came out. He had his photo taken with the other family. Then he turned to us and said "hi kids". He shook hands with us, signed our tickets and had photos taken with us and we had a short talk. My heart was pounding all the time and my head was screaming, "I'm talking to Michael McIntyre". Then we waved him off and it was like we knew him personally.
So as me and Yian were walking through Leicester Square, I was buzzing. I just couldn't believe it. We made the journey back to St. Albans and looked at the photographs. Plus I was really happy as I got to spend a whole extra day with my guy. We drove home with the aid of the satnav and I got home about 12.50am.
I have been so tired today. Gah, have not done too much. Still can't believe I met Michael McIntyre.
